Enigin quotes large users

posted by enigin in General

Here at Enigin, we are busy developing new marketplaces for our Eniscope and it’s terrific display. Currently we are working with an international airport, a brewery, a hospital, an organisation which owns a large estate of stately homes as well as a large hospital. Enigin is the only company able to provide the information that these users need in an engaging and useful format that can be understood by everyone, employees and public alike. Everyone who sees the product is excited by the opportunity it creates to reveal what is really happening with the their electricity supply, and the potential savings that can be made.

Don’t try this at home

Working at Enigin, I come across loads of really good energy saving ideas. We had a stand at a Saving the Planet exhibition recently, and had loads of interested visitors. One guy was an electrician who had worked out a great way to save money on electricity, by storing up power from the night-rate. He’d built his own system from an old set of milk-float batteries, a suitable charger, a timer, and an inverter for powering the AC equipment in his home. At night, when the power is cheap, the timer starts charging the batteries at 7p per kWh compared to the daytime rate of 11p. When the night rate goes off so does the charger. Then using his own installed isolator switches at the fuse box, this guy was able to power his household appliances all day from the batteries. Not only is he saving 4p per kWh on his electricity bill, he also sitting pretty during power cuts. Last time there was one in his area, half the neighbours were round watching telly at his place! However good it sounds, this isn’t a product we’re going to be adding to the Enigin range in the near future, and remember, don’t try this at home, this guy was a fully qualified electrician!
